The most-asked question · 7 min read
How much should I take?
This is the question I hear most, and underneath it is almost always the same worry: "What if I take too much?" So let's kill that fear properly — with pre-dosed servings, a patient method, and a clear picture of what to expect.
First, the fear itself
Almost everyone's mental picture of "taking too much" comes from THC — a friend's edible story, a bad night in college, a movie. That picture does not apply here. Chime & Chill products contain no detectable THC. You cannot get high from them. There is no version of this where you take a serving and lose your evening. What people typically report from too large a CBD serving is… sleepiness. That's the scary ceiling: a nap.
Pre-dosed means the measuring is already done
Traditional CBD oils hand you a dropper, a milligram count on a bottle, and a math problem. We don't. Every Chime & Chill serving is pre-dosed and single-serve:
- Oral Solutions (AM / PM / PMU) — one single-serving unit is one complete serving. No dropper, no lines to squint at.
- TRIO ChimeCard ($15) — a full day laid out on a card: AM, PM, and PMU singles. It's the lowest-stakes way to meet the whole rhythm. (There's a Spanish edition too.)
- K.O. Double Dose ($45) — exactly what it sounds like, for people who already know a single serving is gentle for them. It's our best seller because people graduate to it — not because they start there.
The consistency matters as much as the convenience. Serving one and serving forty are identical. When you're building a routine — or caring for someone else — that repeatability is everything.
Start low, go slow (the whole method)
- Start with one serving at the time of day it's made for — AM in the morning, PM in the evening.
- Hold there for several days. CBD tends to be cumulative and subtle; many people notice more in week two than day one.
- Adjust one variable at a time. Different time of day, or a second serving — not both at once, or you won't know what did what.
- Keep a two-line journal. "What I took, how the day felt." Boring, and unbeatable.
What to expect, and when
Honest expectations, because hype is how people get disappointed:
- Oral servings come on gradually — think of the timescale of a cup of tea working through you, not a light switch.
- The feeling is subtle. The most common report isn't "I feel it!" — it's noticing an hour later that your jaw unclenched, or that bedtime came easier.
- Time of day shapes the fit. CBG pairs naturally with morning focus, CBN with evening wind-down — that's the logic of our AM/PM split. The cannabinoid guides go deeper on each.
- Nothing yet? Don't double down on day two. Give it the full week or two of consistency first.
Questions everyone asks
Can I get high from Chime & Chill products?
No. Every Chime & Chill product, including our vape, tests non-detect for THC at a New York State third-party lab. Non-detect means the lab instruments found no THC at all, down to the smallest measurable amount. CBD and the other cannabinoids in our line are non-psychoactive — they will not get you high.
What happens if I take more than one serving?
You still will not get high — there is no THC to get high from. Most people find one pre-dosed serving is a sensible place to live, and our K.O. Double Dose exists for people who have learned over time that they prefer more. Start low, go slow, and give each level a few days before changing it.
How long until I feel something?
It depends on the format. Oral servings generally take longer to come on than inhaled ones, and everyone's body is different. Many people describe the effect of CBD as subtle — less a wave that hits you, more noticing later that your shoulders came down. Give a new routine one to two weeks of consistent use before you judge it.
When should I take AM vs PM products?
They do what they say: AM (CBD:CBG "Energize") is built for daytime clarity, PM (CBD:CBN "Relax") for evening wind-down. The TRIO ChimeCard lays out a full day — AM, PM, and PMU singles on one card — so you can try the rhythm without buying three products.
Will CBD show up on a drug test?
Standard drug tests look for THC metabolites, not CBD. Because our products are non-detect for THC, there is no THC to metabolize. If your livelihood depends on testing, bring our COA to whoever administers your program — that's exactly what the document is for.
Do I need to talk to my doctor first?
If you take medication, are pregnant or nursing, manage a health condition, or are shopping for someone in your care — yes, please do. CBD can interact with some medications. We will never position our products as a substitute for that conversation.
